Numeros en Ingles
Así como en español, en Ingles existen dos tipos de números:
Números Cardinales como por ejemplo 1 “one”, 2 “two”, 3 “three”. Que serian los números que usamos para contar.
Números Ordinales por ejemplo 1st “first”, 2nd “second”, 3rd “third”. Que en general lo utilizamos para indicar la posición o puesto de algo o alguien en un conjunto ordenado.
Los Numerous Cardinales:
Lo utilizamos en general para algunos casos como los siguientes:
- Contanto elementos: I have Five t shirts (Tengo cinco remoras)
- Diciendo nuestro edad: I am thirty-three years old (Tengo treinta y tres años de edad)
- Dando tu numero telefónico: My phone number is Two-eight-seven-Five-Six-One-Nine (Mi numero telefónico es dos-ocho-siete-cinco-seis-uno-nueve 287 5619)
- Especificando años: I Arrive in nineteen ninety-six (Llegue en mil novecientos noventa y seis 1996).
Como verán en el ultimo caso, los años se dividen en dos partes, los dos primeros dígitos y por otra parte los últimos dos dígitos. Esto cambio si queremos decir un años de 2000 en adelante, por ejemplo, 2012 se dice “Two thousand and twelve” (Dos mil doce).
Los Números Ordinales:
Los números ordinales en ingles deben tener “Th” al final del número cardinal, normalmente los podemos usar en los siguientes casos:
- Dando una fecha: My birthday is on the 27th of June (Mi cumpleaños es el 27 de Junio)
- Indicando la posición de un elemento en un conjunto: River Plate came first in the football league of Argentina (River Plate termino primero en la Liga Argentina de Futbol)
- Indicando el piso de una oficina: His office is on the four floor (Su oficina está en el cuarto piso)

Cuando se tiene 100 se dice “one hundred” pero se puede decir “A Hundred“, lo mismo sucede con 1000 que se dice “One thousand” o “A Thousand” y 1,000,000 “One Million” o “A Million“.

- 2nd – second (Segundo)
- 3rd – third (Tercero)
- 4th – four (Cuarto)

- 1,000,000th – ten millionth (millonésimo)
El Número o “Zero” (Cero):
En ingles normalmente para el número “0” se dice “Zero” (Cero), pero en general, cuando damos un número telefónico (el nuestro o cualquier número telefónico) se puede reemplazar el “Zero” por la “O”, por ejemplo si queremos dar el siguiente número de teléfono 201-5509 podemos decirlo de dos maneras:
- Two-zero-one-five-five-zero-nine
- Two-O-one-five-five-O-nine
